Close tasks with a click
To quickly close a task, just click on the task icon in front of it. Clicking it again will re-open it.
To report progress or time spent on a task...
use the "Progress/Time" option when posting a comment. You will be able to post a Progress Note to update the task % of completion or log the time spent on it..
Use contextual menu for more options
When you select a project or a task, you can quickly access the extra options via the contextual menu (the button with three dots). Such menu is also present in other places — the top right of panels, timeline, reports, etc.
Cloning projects and tasks
Use any project or task as a template for a new one! You can even clone the whole project with all its tasks! This feature is accessed through the contextual menu.
Automatic deadline reminders
Replying to an email notification
When you are replying to a 5pm email notification, your response is automatically added into 5pm as a message on the respective project/task [

Drag-and-drop
You can drag and drop tasks and projects in your main view to change their order. You can drag a task into another task, to make it into a sub-task.
You can drag messages from the right panel into a different projects/tasks in the left one (by its avatar).

To collapse (fold) all the projects...
use this option via the left panel's contextual menu.
To keep the project/task description on the screen...
just enable this option via the right panel contextual menu.
To speed up 5pm...
hide the extra data — use the
auto-archive, Group and other filters. If you are using Internet Explorer — try Chrome, Firefox or Safari for a better performance.
To submit a form fast...
use CTRL+Enter (Command+Enter on Mac) keyboard shortcut.
To access the Search fast...
use the "/" keyboard shortcut.
People can open Google Docs links without logging into Google...

To see who is working on what...
- Add the "Team" column to the left panel of the main view ("Projects")
- In the left panel, use the users dropdown filter on the top to filter tasks by team members (works in "My Tasks" view as well)
- Run the General Report using the "Team member" filter
- Use the Workload reports
To see the changes logs and restore deleted items...
To fit more data on the screen...
Use the F11 button to switch your web browser into full screen mode.
Project/Task Team selector — show only selected users...
by clicking on the "selected: X" link on the bottom left of the team selector popup.
Highlight a team member...
by clicking on its name in the team input field.
To change the Tags display location...
use the left panel contextual menu.
To change the Tags display order...
in the project/task form click on any tag to open its editing, but do not edit it — the clicked tag will become the last one in the tags list.
Need a better way to track your time?
To to show what you are working on...
use the
Social Toolbar and post the link to that task into your status.
To see who logged into your 5pm account...
To see your tasks in a Calendar view...
To make the email notifications enabled by default...
use the "settings > more options" to turn those checkboxes on by default for Project Team, Task Team and Clients.
To see overdue tasks...
use General Report with the Dates filter set on "Overdue".
